Can you believe these loafers were £8?! I never seem to be one of those people who manages to look past the rails of disarray and navigate through the crowds to find these kind of hidden gems in the deep depths of Primark (I don’t know how people do that… Love Lauren for example always manages this – great for screenshotting what to look out for) But low and behold, this was my lucky day. Okay fine, my sister found and told me about them. The quality is impressive for Primark, they don’t have that stiff plastic look about them or some weird extra detail which you wish they’d just left off (why do they always do that?!). The only downside is they slightly rub, but nothing a couple of gel cushions won’t fix. They make the perfect addition to my work-wear wardrobe.
Enough about my rave for Primark loafers… I’m big into sleeves at the moment, along with the rest of the world, and that’s what makes this simple flare sleeve jumper a great multipurpose piece. As I’ve done here, it works for a smart work-wear look if worn over a shirt but can also be worn casual, tucked into a skirt with some heeled boots and a fedora for example. That makes it ideal for those after work drinks where you just need a change of shoes and accessories and you’re good to go ~ who am I kidding my social life is non-existent Monday through Friday. But as much of a fashionista as you consider yourself and as much as you may want to keep your sense of style up Monday through Friday, I’m pretty sure spending your salary on work-wear which can only be worn for only that, is noone’s cup of tea. So, shopping savvy and choosing multipurpose pieces is key. I find once you have 2 or 3 shirts in your wardrobe they can take most outfits from casual to smart (enough). Statement sleeves are continuing into the Spring and I love the oversized cuff shirts which have started appearing in the stores. The extra detail makes them even more wearable at the weekends. I have my eye on these Topshop shirts...
